On 20 January, the 3rd session of the Speaker Series of WILA took place: Cross-cultural negotiations and why they matter, by speaker Tasneem Chopra OAM and moderated by Judith Miller, Wrays (LES Australia & New Zealand. Judith did a fantastic job moderating, and our speaker is very knowledgeable. A few takeaways:
- Convey information in a way that is consumable
- Misunderstanding of culture leads to unintended effects
- Women don’t lack capacity; they lack opportunities
- Hiring diverse candidates is a best practice to address these cross-cultural negotiations
